The National Digital Economy and e-Governance Bill is currently making its way through the Nigerian National Assembly. The bill aims to create a legal framework for the digital economy in Nigeria and improve the way the government delivers services to citizens. The bill seeks to promote digital literacy and streamline government processes to reduce bureaucracy.
Bill covers:
1. Validity of Electronic Transaction
2. Electronic Contracts
3. Electronic Signatures
4. Electronic Timestamps
5. Consumer Protection including Cyber Insurance
6. Digital Government – this includes promoting e-administration and reducing papers in government offices. Electronic-Communications
7. Among others
At my free time, I will dissect the bill and offer subjective opinions on some areas, especially areas currently being ignored and lacking appreciation by existing government structures leadership.
