You may have seen of late, the trending Facebook professional status offered to select number of Facebook accounts, and where they are by default tagged as Creators.

Facebook technically used to word “Creator” to mean users with exceptional creative ability who can develop original creative contents that attract wide engagements.

What are the creative contents?
Creative contents in this context are Videos, images, music, and news stories.

What is monetisation?
This means that, if you are granted a professional status and you able to develop creative contents, you may be able to earn money from Facebook for your creativity depending on how viral your contents have gone.

The idea is that as more and more people watch videos, stare at images, listen to music or read news on the Meta platforms, those people are potential marketplace for Facebook to advertise. This is so, because plans to place short ad before, in between or after that your viral contents and charge the advertisers from where a token is distributed to creators.

The intricacies!
It is one thing to be designated as a digital creator on Facebook, it is a long journey to become approved for Monetisation.

How to get monetisation approval.

  1. You must add a payment information in your Facebook account.
  2. You must have connected your Instagram account to Facebook account.
  3. You must not have been reported to Facebook for breaching its community guidelines.
  4. You must be unique in your developed contents and be extra creative.

Video contents posted on Reel generates more earnings than any other content.

Please note, everybody shouldn’t be Digital Creators. I noticed most professional account profiles accept the default provided category [
DIGITAL CREATOR], you should ask yourself, where do I have my comparative advantage?

If you look at my personal profile, I have chosen [JOURNALIST] in the given categories because I am a Digital Media Communications professional, a Publisher, and a Blogger.

So, go back to your category list and choose what fits your creative ability.

Digital creativity is not all comers’ affairs, you must carve a niche for yourself and stand out.

Meta wants to share parts of the revenue it makes from advertisers with creators, take part and earn residual income.
