A few minutes ago, I got an Inmail message in my LinkedIn account from a Representative of DIGITALCONFEX, a conference and exhibition organization based out of India. The mail says I have been shortlisted for the nomination of ‘Top 25 Cybersecurity Star of the Year’ to be conferred in Information Technology Confex, New Delhi on 22 Sept 2023.
At first, as a Cybersecurity professional, I quickly conducted due diligence (fingerprinting, in IT terms) to establish that the mail comes from a legitimate organization and that the award is truly going to be given at a Conference.
Indeed, I have been spotted and recognized based on my consistent articles on IT and Cybersecurity which I have always published on my tech blog, www.youngdestinya.ng and on all my social media platforms including LinkedIn.
In short, I have a #newsletter spot on LinkedIn where people within the LinkedIn community subscribe to receive my publications as I release them.
