I have a generation to inspire.

Given my background, growing up and struggling with life at a tender age, I have been exposed to the hurdles of life, and I am better equipped to understand the challenges the larger majority of my generation is facing.

When I lost my parents at a very young age, I had just two options: to steer the course of my ship or give up. I decided not to give up.

My conviction was propelled by the fact that life itself is riddled with challenges.

I come from a background where you have virtually no internal nor external support. So, you must strive to scale life challenges if you are to survive.

For those of us who come from my kind of background, never let life challenges impact you negatively. Yes, sometimes it can be very demoralizing and frustrating. I urge you to fight on with everything you have.

One thing you must understand is that confronting these challenges requires extreme courage, patience, and dedication. These are very rare attributes among our current young generation.

No good thing comes easy; you must be ready to sacrifice. One of such sacrifices is trying to impress people. You must do away with the ideology that people must always validate your opinion. Another is to prioritize your needs and attend to them in order of their priorities, especially given alternatives. Thirdly, do away with companions that are not adding value to your personal trajectory; it is usually, for the most part, a distraction.

Starting in 2024, it is not too late to chart a new direction for your life.

I hope that this message invokes the needed inspiration to drive you into taking action to take charge of your life.

I am Destiny Young, the second son of a late retired Police Officer who was popularly called “IF MEN WERE GOD.”
