Elon Musk, the Twitter owner has confirmed $8 as the price to be pay to maintain Twitter Verified Badge. This is made known via his official twitter handle [@ElonMusk].

They were earlier media speculations that the Verified Badge will be sold at $20. With Musk’s tweet, his tweet has put the nail on the coffin. In what appears like a direct response to Tweeps who complained. Musk says, “to all complainers, please continue, but it will be $8”.
It is left to be seen how twitter users will respond to the new development. Elon Musk, just after taking over Twitter, had said, he will bring some innovations into the microblogging platform to drive revenue.
Currently, Twitter is testing a new feature that will allow tweet to be composed with multimedia contents – photos, video, gif, etc. and there is a possibility of quicker introduction of the ability to edit already posted tweet.
Looks like Elon Musk is poised to seeing that contents creators and publishers are given an unrestricted platform to earn reward from their contents. The following tweet from Musk confirms seem to suggest so:
